  • Location data— pickup, drop-off and live trip location, so we can match you with a driver and navigate the route.
  • Payment information— details needed to process fares by cash, card or mobile money.
  • Usage and device data— app activity, device type and diagnostics that help us keep Rydsom reliable and secure.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Match riders and drivers and complete trips;
  • Process payments and prevent fraud;
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes;
  • Keep trips safe through verification and monitoring;
  • Improve our Services and communicate important updates.

4. Location data

Location is at the heart of a ride-hailing service. We collect location while the app is in use to arrange trips, and drivers share location during active trips so riders and our safety team can follow the route. You can control location permissions in your device settings, though some features will not work without them.

5. How we share information

We share only what is needed to deliver the Services. This may include:

  • Sharing a rider’s first name, pickup point and trip details with the assigned driver (and vice versa);
  • Trusted service providers who help us with payments, mapping, messaging and cloud hosting;
  • Authorities where we are required to by law, or to protect the safety of our community.

We never sell your personal information.

Our website uses essential cookies to function and limited analytics to understand how visitors use the site. You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, safety and dispute resolution obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
